Pacers and trotters race on the seven-eights mile dirt oval at the Hoosier Park race track. While some major US cities can't lay claim to having easy access to one horse racing venue, fans of the ponies in Indianapolis are about a half hour away from two fantastic racetracks.

Here's a look at both venues in a nutshell. These two premier wagering destinations are located within 50 miles of Indianapolis - by far the largest city in Indiana. Both facilities offer year round simulcast wagering as well as a full service casino and entertainment center. Standardbreds race at Hoosier Park in the City of Anderson while top-notch thoroughbred and quarter horses compete at Indiana Grand Race Course which is located 55 miles south in Shelbyville. Thrilling horse betting action is alive and well in the State of Indiana.
